Top SchoolAaron Zirbes is a Senior Principal Engineer with 14 years of experience building scalable infrastructure and product-facing systems, currently focused at RB Global after a multi-year tenure leading streaming platform and supply chain engineering at Target. He blends deep JVM and backend expertise—Spring Boot, Kafka, Cassandra, Grails—with hands-on systems and DBA experience dating back to university IT roles, enabling him to bridge legacy operations and modern distributed architectures. Known for engineering enablement and agentic software approaches, he excels at turning complex data flows into reliable, production-grade pipelines. Aaron’s background includes consulting and leadership roles that favor pragmatic design and developer productivity, and he has a long-standing Minneapolis connection that roots his collaborative, security-minded leadership. An unusual detail: his career spans both low-level sysadmin work and high-level platform architecture, giving him rare end-to-end visibility into service reliability and operational risk.
