Top SchoolAkshay Kumar is a Staff Software Engineer based in Seattle with eight years of experience building large-scale, resilient systems across consumer and cloud platforms. He has led end-to-end product delivery from 0-to-1 at startups and driven high-impact initiatives at Amazon—scaling AWS Directory Service from 500K to 10M objects, slashing checkout p90 latency by 50%, and introducing an LLM-driven ops tool that cut ticket closure time by 70%. Comfortable across web, data engineering, and competitive coding, he combines hands-on implementation (Java, Ruby, cloud services) with cross-functional leadership that coordinates networking, security, and product teams. Notably, his Ola work produced multiple patents for in-car entertainment and connectivity features, reflecting a knack for inventing user-facing platform capabilities. Now at Airbnb, he continues to focus on scalable architectures and pragmatic automation that reduce operational toil while improving customer experience.
