Top SchoolAlan Soares is a Lead Software Developer and PhD student in Computer Science with over a decade of experience building cloud-native, event-driven systems and AI-enabled products. He blends hands-on full-stack engineering—spanning Java, Golang, Python, TypeScript, Flutter and modern frontend frameworks—with technical leadership roles at banks and consultancies and a current position at Thoughtworks. As a founder of Theia Deep Vision he applied computer vision and LLMs in a production surveillance platform, reflecting a rare combination of research-grade AI and pragmatic engineering. He has led large cloud migrations and microservices designs using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Apache Camel and Kubernetes across AWS, GCP and Azure, often delivering dramatic performance and cost improvements. Alan’s research background and competition wins in simulated robotics (RoboCup) underpin his strengths in ML, computer vision and generative models, while his GitHub and academic work show an ongoing commitment to advancing applied AI. Based in São Paulo, he positions himself as a “generalist specialist” who dives deep into new technologies while mentoring teams to ship resilient, scalable systems.
