Top SchoolAlex-Antoine Fortin is a Senior Research Engineer with 10 years of experience translating statistical rigor into production-ready ML systems across insurance, enterprise software, and gaming. With a Master's in Statistics from the University of Toronto, he combines deep probabilistic modelling and higher-order approximation research with hands-on engineering in Python, PySpark, PyTorch and TensorFlow. His work spans large-scale feature engineering and scoring pipelines (including a 33x Spark speedup on 42B+ rows) as well as applied research in financial time series and image-based property valuation. He has a track record of delivering end-to-end projects under tight SLAs—building microservices for on-demand drone-image anonymization and operationalizing UBI scoring to reduce latency threefold. Now at Borealis AI after roles at Unity and ServiceNow, he bridges research and product needs, onboarding teams to cloud platforms and promoting model interpretability. Colleagues describe him as the pragmatic scientist: curious about new algorithms but always focused on measurable business impact.
