Top SchoolÁlvaro Gallego is a Lead Software Architect and engineering leader with 15 years of experience building scalable APIs, data ingestion and ML pipelines from prototype to production. Based in Valencia, he currently drives AI-native product bets at Digital Science, blending hands-on Python and Rust development with API gateway design (APISIX) and productionising agentic research and knowledge-extraction systems. He has a strong track record in backend architecture, containerized deployments and data migrations, and has led teams responsible for developer platforms and end-to-end AI widgets. Known for turning experimental ideas into validated pilots, he balances product collaboration with rigorous transition planning to ensure prototypes scale reliably. An engineer who surfaced performance wins early in his career (e.g., 20x DB query improvements) and later built cross-functional bridges between ML, product and design, he brings pragmatic technical depth to ambitious AI projects.
