Top SchoolAndrew Hillel is a Director of Engineering with 11 years of experience leading agile, generative teams to deliver partner integrations, exceptional client experiences, and AI-backed products. Currently at Spotify, he previously built and scaled the BBC’s Voice + AI department from a single team to eight multidisciplinary squads, overseeing up to 60 engineers and shipping voice-first and conversational products across global platforms. He combines hands-on technical leadership—from launching the BBC’s first Alexa skill to designing editorial graph tools—with strategic people programs like a four-week bootcamp and a Remote-First Handbook that improved staff engagement. Based in Stevenage, he pairs a Computer Science degree and postgraduate leadership studies with a knack for translating experimental voice/AI work into reliable, production-grade services.
