Top SchoolAntoine Schmitt is a Paris-based artist and seasoned software engineer who has been "programming the world" since 1978, blending code, movement and interactivity across art and industry for more than 23 years. As an independent practitioner (schmittMachine) he designs and programs highly interactive systems—real-time engines, computer vision, physics simulations and autonomous agents—for cultural, multimedia and commercial projects, drawing on early engineering roots at NeXT and formal training in signal processing. His practice uniquely treats software as artistic material, producing installations and intelligent objects where algorithmic behavior becomes the medium. Known for concise, high-value consulting and bespoke software components, he pairs deep low-level expertise with an artist’s attention to gesture and presence.
