Top SchoolArt Chaidarun is a Principal Software Engineer with 13 years of experience, currently owning platform work for Duolingo’s flagship web and Android clients from Pittsburgh. He architects end-to-end solutions—having designed a client-server API that cut network transfer by 90%, ported backend code to a Windows app he single-handedly built (now top-ranked in the Education store), and implemented much of the Duolingo English Test’s Python backend and JavaScript frontend. Comfortable across stacks, he has shipped tooling and infrastructure at OpenAI and built experiment and storage tooling for large-scale research runs. Known for turning performance constraints into product wins, he blends deep technical craft with product-minded execution and a background in math and CS from the University of Virginia.
