Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolBarton Gellman is a veteran journalist, author, and national-security expert now serving as Senior Advisor on the executive team at the Brennan Center for Justice. He has spent decades investigating government power—21 years at The Washington Post, three at Time, a staff writer stint at The Atlantic—and is the author of Dark Mirror and other deeply reported books on surveillance and power. His work blending investigative reporting, academic collaboration at Princeton and policy research at The Century Foundation has shaped public debate on privacy, secrecy and accountability. Less obvious: he has repeatedly bridged journalism and scholarship, supervising theses and teaching courses on secrecy while converting classified reporting into influential books and policy interventions.
