Top SchoolBen Malartre is a software developer and CG artist/programmer with nine years of experience specializing in cloth and hair simulation, character FX, and pipeline tooling for feature animation. Based in Paris, he has delivered technical direction and custom C++/Python tools for studios including Mikros Animation, The Mill, and Ragdoll Dynamics, working on high-profile productions like Asterix and Paramount’s Tiger’s Apprentice. He blends hands-on FX artistry with engineering—building Maya plugins, custom nodes, and production IO systems—to streamline asset builds and artist workflows. Comfortable both as a supervisor and a coder, Ben provides artist-facing support, debugging, and pipeline design that keep complex simulations production-ready. Currently focused on physics-based animation software, he brings an uncommon mix of cinematic sensibility and low-level systems work that bridges creative and technical teams.
