Top SchoolBen Williams is a seasoned software leader with 11 years of experience who currently serves as Director of Software Development in Portland, Oregon. He has a proven track record at Nike leading multiple engineering organizations to accelerate delivery, adopt cloud-native and DevSecOps practices, and cut costs and overhead—achieving outcomes like a 20% reduction in AWS spend and halving research time through GenAI/ML initiatives. Ben combines hands-on product and full-stack experience (notably contributing UI and device handler work to the popular nest-manager SmartThings project) with strategic leadership in engineering enablement, cloud migration, and continuous delivery. His background spans startups to large enterprises, founding quality and DevOps practices early in his career and repeatedly shrinking time-to-value from quarters to weeks. A Harvard ALM in Information Management Systems and a BS in Technology Management, he brings a pragmatic, metrics-driven approach to scaling teams and systems. His early military service as a combat engineer underpins a disciplined, mission-focused leadership style.
