Top SchoolBenjamin Pannell is an Azure Site Reliability Engineering leader with 11 years of experience, currently serving as Global Technical Lead for Azure's Change SRE group in Dublin, where he shapes strategy, global engineering systems, and change-safety practices across one of the world’s largest cloud platforms. He has progressed through technical and leadership roles at Microsoft—from Senior SRE to Principal and regional tech lead—bringing deep operational expertise in building and scaling distributed SRE teams and tooling. Benjamin pairs hands-on engineering roots (including early lead developer work at Sierra Softworks and SRE at Demonware) with a systems-minded approach from his BEng in Informatics. He’s focused on aligning SRE practices across organizations and elevating team capabilities to reduce risk during change, and quietly maintains developer continuity with a newer GitHub identity (@notheotherben). Pragmatic and strategic, he’s known for turning complex change-management challenges into repeatable, automated practices that improve service safety at scale.
