Top SchoolBernardo Farah is a pragmatic engineering leader with 14 years of experience building and scaling product and platform teams, currently serving as Director of Engineering for Xero’s Accounting Data Platform. He excels at turning ambiguous, high-impact problems into delivered outcomes—leading cross-functional initiatives that drove >20% revenue impact and launching multiple 0→1 products and internal platforms in under six months. Bernardo has repeatedly scaled organizations through hiring, international office launches, and improved operational standards, while also owning architecture, performance and developer-facing tooling. He pairs hands-on engineering (Rails, GraphQL/ORM, search and orchestration systems) with strong product partnership to prioritize scope and deliver on tight timelines. Mentorship and career development are core to his leadership, with many direct reports promoted under his guidance. Based in Seattle, he prefers companies that are “young in spirit,” where rapid iteration, measurable impact and team growth are valued.
