Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolBjörn Schießle is a seasoned director of sales engineering and co-founder of Nextcloud with 14 years of experience building and scaling privacy-focused cloud platforms. He blends deep hands-on engineering—having authored core features like Cloud Federation and Global Scale—with customer-facing leadership, running distributed pre-sales teams that help organizations integrate Nextcloud securely into their workflows. A long-time Free Software advocate since 1996 and former FSFE board member, he still contributes to documentation and code across ownCloud/Nextcloud projects, with a practical focus on encryption, sharing and security hardening. Based in Stuttgart, he prefers remote, asynchronous, self-organized teams and champions diversity as a lever for high performance. Unobvious but telling: his background spans academic robotics research to production-grade cloud architecture, giving him both systems-level rigor and product empathy.
