Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolCalin Cruceru is a research engineer at Google DeepMind with 12 years of software engineering and machine learning experience, combining deep theoretical curiosity with systems-level execution. He helped drive production and certification-ready ML systems at Daedalean AI, leading transfer-learning efforts that bridged simulation and real-world invariance for aviation-grade perception. Calin brings a strong SWE background from multiple Google internships and high-impact roles, plus top academic credentials from ETH Zurich and University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. He values both principled ideas and rapid experimentation, equally comfortable exploring geometric learning theory and shipping distributed training and inference pipelines. An early team builder and frequent interviewer, he played a hands-on role in scaling engineering teams and infrastructure. Based in Zurich, he quietly enjoys scientific rigor as much as shipping “hot” applied ML features.
