Senior🎓
Top SchoolChao Huang is a senior researcher in Palo Alto with 14 years of experience specializing in computer vision, computational geometry, image/geometry processing, and multimedia compression. He holds a PhD in Computational Imaging Science and has an extensive record of applied R&D: 20+ publications, 50+ patents, and leadership roles driving industry standards work for MPEG and the Alliance for Open Media. At Tencent America he led responses to major mesh-coding calls for proposals and helped develop a top-ranked dynamic mesh codec, while earlier roles at Harvard, Hologic, and startups translated deep learning and CUDA-accelerated algorithms into production medical imaging products. Comfortable in C/C++, Python, CUDA and JavaScript, he pairs deep theoretical knowledge with pragmatic engineering—evidenced by dramatic speedups (3 minutes to <10 seconds) and a Kaggle bronze finish. He is particularly adept at moving innovations from proposal and patent to standards adoption and product integration.
