Top SchoolCharles Zhang is a founder and CEO with 11+ years of product and engineering leadership, best known for founding Donorbox, an intuitive, bootstrapped fundraising platform that now powers $3 billion in donations across 96 countries. He combines hands-on technical sensibilities with business pragmatism, having scaled Donorbox to profitability while keeping the product affordable for nonprofits. Prior ventures like Rebel Idealist and Checkya show a pattern of building pragmatic web tools for businesses, freelancers, and mission-driven organizations. Based in San Francisco and trained in Finance and MIS at UT Austin, he blends product, payments, and growth expertise to simplify donor relationships and checkout flows. Less obvious: he favors lean, developer-friendly engineering (rooted in Ruby on Rails roots) and focuses on measurable impact rather than flashy fundraising metrics.
