Top SchoolChenchao Shou is an applied scientist with 11 years of experience blending scientific simulation, machine learning, and statistical rigor to solve high-impact problems at companies like Amazon and Yahoo. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Statistics from UIUC, where he developed variance-reduction methods for Monte Carlo and parallel optimization algorithms used for hyperparameter tuning and large-scale stochastic characterization. His background spans production fraud detection and traffic quality protection, high-performance supercomputing, and distributed big-data platforms (Hadoop, AWS), with strong coding skills in Python, R, C++, MATLAB and SQL. Comfortable moving ideas from research to production, he combines deep quantitative modeling with practical systems engineering to deliver scalable solutions. A Shanghai-based researcher with a knack for reducing simulation variance by orders of magnitude, he brings both academic depth and industry impact to ML-driven scientific and data platforms.
