Senior🎓
Top SchoolChijun Sima is a Senior Software Engineer with nine years of experience building large-scale, cost-efficient systems for cloud and ML workloads. At Tencent he co-designed Ekko, a production DL runtime serving over a billion users and reducing model-update latency, and later added an operations-research based shard placement scheduler that cut cluster costs by up to 30%. He also built Lightning, a WebAssembly-powered SFI runtime used for multi-tenant storage and serverless use cases, emphasizing tight resource control and tiered compilation. An active LLVM open-source contributor, Chijun improved dominator-tree updates and real-world compile performance by orders of magnitude, work that was upstreamed into LLVM releases. Based in Guangzhou, he blends systems research and pragmatic engineering across cloud systems, ML systems, serverless, and compilers. He tends to tackle hard infrastructure trade-offs—e.g., latency vs. cost—by applying algorithms and practical engineering to production at scale.
