Top SchoolChizhao Yang is a data scientist and application developer with 10 years of experience building lidar, vision, and sensor-fusion systems for robotics and industrial applications. He has led lidar R&D and SDK development, designed filter-based multi-agent navigation and collision-avoidance systems, and delivered 3D LiDAR-inertial SLAM that won top honors in a NASA robotics challenge. Comfortable bridging research and product, he has taken algorithms from EKF/particle-filter prototypes to field-deployed firmware, drivers, GUIs, and CI/CD pipelines. Currently at AeroDefense in Framingham, he focuses on lidar-based motion estimation in dynamic environments and human-robot collaboration for smart warehouses. His background—PhD-level aerospace engineering mixed with hands-on MCU firmware and field applications engineering—gives him a rare combination of theoretical depth and practical system integration.
