Senior🎓
Top SchoolChris Prokop is a seasoned technology leader with over 20 years of experience building scalable software platforms and leading large engineering and security teams. Currently Director of Tech Ops at ZipRecruiter, he architects internal tooling, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and Terraform while overseeing security monitoring and compliance for enterprise audits like SOC2 and SOX. Previously he led engineering for a $1B e-commerce auction marketplace, modernizing a monolith to serverless AWS architectures and managing a 45-person org across engineering, QA, and DevOps. He combines hands-on coding fluency (Python, Go, Perl) with data platform stewardship—supporting Redshift, Athena, Databricks, and ETL pipelines—and a track record of operationalizing compliance across PCI, CPRA, and GDPR. Equally comfortable as a founder/CTO for boutique consulting engagements and as a director at scale, he brings both entrepreneurial resourcefulness and rigorous process discipline. Based in Washington, DC, he pairs a quantitative background in physics and analytic philosophy with a pragmatic focus on secure, auditable systems.
