Senior🎓
Top SchoolChris Vale is a Chief Software Engineer with 15+ years building distributed, fault-tolerant microservices and a long history of high-performance, low-latency systems for gaming and enterprise products. Based in San Francisco, he combines deep hands-on expertise in Scala, Java, C/C++, Redis, RabbitMQ, HBase and MySQL with practical leadership—leading engineering teams and shipping production systems rather than managing from afar. His recent work pivots into reactive web and mobile applications for professional services while continuing to architect resilient back-end platforms. Past roles from Rocket Lawyer and Credit Karma to Optum reflect repeated responsibility for rewards, incentives, and large-scale data-driven services. He runs a stealth startup (FlyingWalrus) that surfaces his product curiosity and continued appetite for building new platforms. A physicist by training, he brings rigorous problem-solving and systems thinking to complex distributed architectures.
