Claus Guttesen
Backend-developer at Digitaliseringsdirektoratet
Re, Vestland, Norway
Summary
👤
SeniorClaus Guttesen is a pragmatic backend developer with 13 years of experience building resilient data pipelines, APIs and operational tooling from his base in Re, Vestland, Norway. He specializes in making data more consumable by applying domain-specific constraints, validating and optimizing business processes, and integrating OAuth flows like Maskinporten for secure API access. His background spans systems work—FreeBSD, Postgres tuning, ZFS evaluations—and modern cloud/devops practices including Kubernetes (microk8s), Helm, Terraform and CI/CD. He has led large-scale migrations (tens of millions of images) and improved robustness using PHP, RabbitMQ and Scala-based workflow systems. Comfortable in both hands-on infrastructure and backend code (Rust, Java), he brings a long track record of turning messy operational systems into auditable, production-ready services. Colleagues value his tendency to document processes as he optimizes them, reducing repeat operational toil.
