Top SchoolColin Togashi is a controls-focused technology leader and current CTO based in Los Angeles with a decade of hands-on experience in robotics, laser systems, and machine learning–adjacent controls. He holds an MS and is pursuing a PhD in Robotic Controls at UCLA, and has progressed from student engineering roles to leading test and integration efforts for high-power laser prototypes in international environments. Colin’s background blends advanced control theory, image-processing algorithms (EM, K-means, Gaussian fitting), and practical firmware/GUI development (C++, Python, MATLAB) to stabilize and automate precision optical systems. At Cymer he designed automation and recovery state machines, thermal-compensating control loops, and qualified EtherCAT motor systems—skills he now applies to product and technology strategy as CTO at VEQdrive. Known for turning research-grade algorithms into robust, field-deployable systems, he pairs academic depth with shop-floor fabrication and CNC experience that helps bridge prototype to production.
