SeniorCurtis Starnes is a Senior Network Administrator with over 25 years of hands-on IT and network experience and eight years in his current senior role supporting an 8,000+ user, 10–15,000+ node K–12 environment. He designs and operates enterprise-scale networks and services—core-to-edge switching, dual-stack BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, firewalls, VPNs, and content/spam filtering—while leading network operations and user support teams. Curtis has driven infrastructure modernization projects including early IPv6 deployment (2012), a campus wireless upgrade to 802.11ac, and a future-proof fiber backbone supporting 10 Gbps+, alongside storage and virtualization platforms (EMC, Dell, Nimble, VMware, Hyper-V, KVM). He combines scripting and development skills (VB, Python, Perl, bash, SQL) with security research and penetration testing, and has practical SDN/DevOps experience using Puppet, Chef and Ansible. Based in Granbury, Texas, he brings a rare blend of network engineering, systems administration and field-service roots that helps translate complex technical strategy into reliable, operational solutions.
