Top SchoolCyril Engmann is an inventive engineer and educator with a decade of hands-on experience building hardware and software for cybersecurity, IoT, robotics, and product development. He has led red-team tool R&D for defense customers, reverse-engineered firmware and hardware, and shipped custom embedded solutions using ESP32, ATTiny85 and x64 platforms while also running a fabrication lab as Partner & Engineer at The Garage Agency. As an active member and educator at NYC Resistor and a former developer evangelist, he blends public teaching and community-driven making with technical leadership and team mentoring. His background spans startups, government contracting, and academic programs (UT Austin, NYU ITP, YC Startup School), giving him both practical engineering depth and product-minded instincts. Notably, he pairs pen-testing expertise with CAD and 3D-printing skills to iterate physical prototypes that exploit and harden real-world systems.
