Top SchoolDan Burke is a software engineer and startup leader with nine years of experience transitioning from bioengineering to building cloud, big data, and iOS systems. He’s shipped backend APIs at Palantir, led engineering as CTO and co-founder at Thera, and most recently founded Safenest before joining Sage as Head of AI Engineering. Comfortable across languages and stacks—from OpenAPI client generators at Fern to ETL work at Capital One—he combines product-minded backend design with hands-on implementation. A fast, independent learner with a history of clinical and assistive-device projects at Rice, he brings unusual domain breadth that helps bridge healthcare, enterprise, and consumer use cases. Based in New York, he pairs technical depth with extensive leadership and service experience, often stepping into roles that require building teams and shipping end-to-end solutions.
