Top SchoolDarshan Baral is an Associate Engineer with 11 years of experience applying hydrology, statistical modeling, and software engineering to water resources challenges in the San Francisco Bay Area. At Valley Water he designs and deploys end-to-end data systems—ETL pipelines, AWS serverless functions, APIs, and archival workflows—that automate telemetry ingestion, threshold-based alerts, and flood forecasting. His work blends advanced time-series and stochastic modeling (Monte Carlo rainfall generators, FIRO feasibility, 1D/2D hydraulics) with practical operational tooling to turn complex reservoir and watershed analyses into production-ready services. Trained to PhD level in Environmental Engineering, he pairs field and lab experience in water quality and stormwater monitoring with strong coding and cloud skills—an unusual cross-section that helps bridge research, modeling, and production deployment.
