Top SchoolDavey Strus is a pragmatic engineering leader with 11 years of experience currently heading engineering at Chexology, where he owns architecture, security, and a multi-platform iOS/Rails product suite while maintaining a five-year streak of zero attrition on his small engineering team. He led a full rewrite of the flagship app from legacy iPad-only Objective-C/Swift to a modern universal Swift release in the App Store, expanded product verticals into hotels and valet, and conducts technical diligence for prospective clients. A former co-founder of a development consultancy and long-time instructor, Davey blends hands-on coding across Rails, React, and native iOS with curriculum design and mentorship—he’s built and taught hundreds of lessons in web and mobile technologies. Based in Avon, Indiana, he couples operational ownership (hiring, roadmap, incident support) with a security-first mindset and a knack for turning legacy systems into maintainable, user-facing products.
