Top SchoolDavid Fenster is a Staff Software Engineer based in New York with 13 years of experience designing scalable web apps and services across full-stack, SOA, and REST API architectures. He has led large, cross-team initiatives—most notably Shutterstock’s multi-year Account Restructure and an enterprise-wide authorization platform serving millions of users with near-perfect uptime. Known for lucid communication with executives and engineers alike, he blends hands-on coding (Node.js, C#, SQL, Ruby, Perl, JS) with architectural vision and measurable, metric-driven outcomes. David authors processes as well as systems, having created Shutterstock’s Architecture Review Process to improve collaboration and technical quality across teams. He brings an encyclopedic technical knowledge and eagerness to learn, often stepping into product, project, or management roles to keep projects moving. He also applies pragmatic performance and security instincts—from automated compromised-account protection to large-scale A/B testing automation—that aren’t obvious from a simple title.
