Top SchoolDavid Naylor is a seasoned freelance software developer and engineering leader with 11 years of experience building high-throughput, resilient payment and event-driven systems for fintech and large-scale consumer platforms. He has led teams at Checkout.com and ClearBank to migrate critical production services—achieving zero-downtime database migrations and 10x throughput improvements—while owning architecture, CI/CD and infrastructure on AWS and Azure. Skilled in .NET, distributed messaging, DynamoDB/CosmosDB, Service Fabric, and performance-driven design, he blends hands-on development with operational rigor. David has a track record of shipping greenfield real-time systems and open-sourced tooling (e.g., internal integration framework DivertR) to improve testing and reliability across organisations. Based in London, he pairs academic training in computer science and embedded systems with an entrepreneurial background launching product and agency ventures. Notably, he combines deep low-latency optimisation experience with pragmatic migration strategies that minimise customer impact.
