Senior🎓
Top SchoolDavid Verweij is a Senior Software Engineer with nine years’ experience building backend systems, specialising in Node.js microservices and REST APIs on AWS for both startups and large public-sector teams. He combines a strong research background in human-computer interaction with hands-on delivery of enterprise integrations, data synchronization pipelines, and large-scale migrations, favouring diagrams and documentation to reduce ambiguity. David regularly leads agile planning, estimation and mentoring activities, and drives quality through automation, observability and testing improvements. His work spans serverless architectures, event-driven data streaming and search infrastructure, and he’s comfortable shifting across languages and stacks as projects demand. Unusually for an engineer focused on backend systems, he also brings product- and user-centred research experience from global health projects, blending technical rigour with real-world user insight.
