Top SchoolDavid West is an Application Developer and infrastructure automation specialist with 13 years of experience building resilient, secure, and efficient cloud platforms from Columbus, Ohio. He has repeatedly turned tribal knowledge into repeatable Infrastructure as Code, driving uptime to five-nines-plus and instituting immutable environments, GitOps pipelines, and automated vulnerability and quality gates. His background spans platform engineering, test automation, and release engineering—authoring tools in Go, Groovy, Ruby, and PowerShell to automate deployments, DB maintenance, and repository hygiene. A pragmatic systems thinker, he boosts capacity by increasing bus factor and eliminating bottlenecks, and has also led enterprise architecture reviews to redesign distributed systems for test and release throughput. Unusually for an engineer, he pairs deep technical craft with training in social work and psychology, which he leverages to mentor teams and propagate DevOps culture across organizations.
