London, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
Senior🎓
Top SchoolDean Chapman is a pragmatic engineering leader and coding architect with over two decades of hands-on experience and 13 years in senior platform roles, currently heading Platform Engineering at Kroo Bank. He blends deep expertise in JVM languages (Java, Scala, Clojure), modern JavaScript/React, databases (Oracle, Datomic, SQL) and cloud-native delivery practices to shrink feedback loops, eliminate flaky workflows and enable one-click deployments. A former CTO and cloud architect, he excels at turning legacy systems into resilient, test-driven platforms while coaching teams to ship reliably. Increasingly focused on smart contracts and blockchain, Dean is an active Ethereum developer and crypto investor who brings that frontier thinking back into platform design. His career traces production-critical roles across banking and fintech, and his philosophy—more commits better than none—underscores a bias for iterative progress and pragmatic engineering.
