Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolDean Hamstead is a seasoned network automation engineer with 15 years of hands-on experience building and automating large-scale infrastructure for carriers and hyperscalers, including five years on Meta’s Edge Platform and now driving automation at Megaport’s flagship NaaS. He blends deep systems and networking expertise—hardware lifecycle, CDN/edge architecture, provisioning and firmware management—with a strong software orientation (Ansible, CI, custom Perl services) to deliver resilient, scalable platforms. Dean has led migrations from on-prem stacks to cloud, designed SOEs for thousands of servers, and repeatedly improved operational tooling to reduce manual toil. Based in Sydney, he pairs academic training in networks and computing with a knack for practical engineering: among other things he ran a long-running LAN event series, showing an ability to organize complex, community-facing technical operations.
