Senior🎓
Top SchoolDenis Smirnov is a Senior Software Developer with 11 years of experience specializing in database and distributed systems development, currently based in Phuket, Thailand. He builds low-level database features and planners—most recently developing a distributed SQL planner and backporting SQLite fixes to Tarantool at Picodata. Previously he extended Greenplum for real-time metrics and near-transactional batch loading into ClickHouse, and implemented CI, Kafka consumer PoCs, and L3 support across enterprise deployments. His background spans hands-on PostgreSQL administration, medical IT modernization, and automation with Ansible and Python, reflecting strong operational and integration skills. A regular conference speaker, Denis pairs deep systems knowledge with practical delivery, often working at the intersection of database internals and real-world infrastructure. Colleagues can expect someone who moves fluently between kernel-level SQL planning and pragmatic automation to make complex data systems reliable.
