Top SchoolDerick Payne is an entrepreneurial software engineer from South Africa with over a decade of hands-on experience building and marketing developer-focused tools. As founder of Rizonesoft he led product development and promotion for lightweight Windows utilities, notably contributing full-stack work to the Notepad3 editor—adding file-browsing and encryption-related enhancements. A self-described coder and geek, he blends practical engineering with a passion for learning and sharing in open-source projects. His background shows a rare combination of product ownership, low-level UI work based on Scintilla, and long-term maintenance of mature desktop software. Colleagues would call him a pragmatic problem-solver who prefers shipping useful features over chasing trends.
