Top SchoolDerrick Lin is a data-oriented Software Engineer with eight years of experience building scalable backend systems, API-driven services, and DevOps tooling across high-throughput consumer and financial products. He currently architects IP protection and image-similarity systems at TikTok Shop, processing hundreds of thousands of reports monthly and applying vector search with GPT-based analysis over tens of millions of images. Derrick’s background includes designing resilient, OpenAPI-compliant async APIs for American Express and producing production ML-enabled incident tooling at Yahoo, reflecting a blend of reliability, automation, and applied research. He also published first-authored papers on multi-service edge computing and coalition-game task offloading, bringing a research-driven approach to practical system design.
