Top SchoolDetian Deng is a data science manager with 12 years of experience building measurement, experimentation, and ads quality systems across top-tier tech companies including ByteDance, Kuaishou, Google, and Facebook. He blends deep Bayesian and probabilistic modeling expertise with product-focused analytics, having led ad bidding, conversion lift, and ads quality initiatives at scale. His academic background (PhD in Biostatistics and MS in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins) underpins a track record of research-driven solutions and patented work from internship projects. Detian is comfortable moving models from probabilistic programming and Bayesian inference into production-facing ML systems, and he routinely bridges research, infra, and product teams. Now based in San Jose while hiring data science talent in Beijing, he combines global product experience with a rare cross-domain fluency in biostatistics, ML, and ads measurement. An often-overlooked strength is his consistent focus on reducing bias in experimental estimates, reflecting both statistical rigor and practical impact.
