Top SchoolDevin Carlen is a seasoned software leader and serial entrepreneur based in Seattle, currently serving as Director of Software Engineering at Astra. With a nearly three-decade engagement in the industry and 15 years of hands-on experience in engineering leadership, he blends startup founding experience (Escapia, Nebula) with enterprise consulting at Oracle and NASA-backed cloud work. Devin has a strong track record building cloud and web platforms—from NASA’s Nebula open-source cloud to enterprise reservation and trust-accounting systems—and moves comfortably between architecture, product, and team leadership. Known as a "Super Citizen" in his GitHub bio, he pairs practical full-stack engineering fluency (Python/Django, Linux, cloud infra) with board-level open-source advocacy from his OpenStack Foundation tenure.
