Top SchoolDexter Leng is a software engineer with eight years of experience building macOS productivity tools and backend systems, currently interning at OpenAI after his startup was acquired. He has a strong focus on macOS UX and keyboard-driven interfaces—authoring apps like Homerow, ProNotes, and TextPal and contributing UI work to projects such as vimac using RxSwift and MASShortcut. Dexter pairs frontend polish with backend pragmatism, having implemented Rails APIs, migrated services to Kubernetes/S3 to cut costs, and helped move data from Firebase to Postgres. His indie success and media-featured MacGPT integrations show an ability to ship polished consumer tools and iterate quickly on platform integrations. Comfortable across Swift, Ruby, TypeScript, and infrastructure as code, he blends product-minded design with practical engineering. Colleagues can expect a hands-on builder who surfaces UX improvements that simplify keyboard-centric workflows.
