Top SchoolDiana Gutierrez-Barrera is an economics student and data-oriented researcher based in Redwood City with nine years of hands-on experience blending technical tinkering and community leadership. She has applied practical engineering skills—from Wi-Fi network testing and device provisioning to designing Arduino-connected test boards—during internships at Skydio, Castilleja School, and a forthcoming SDE internship at AWS. A selected national scholar with the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation, she pairs resilience and mentorship with a track record of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences, including Spanish-speaking communities. Diana’s extracurriculars—robotics build work, web development projects, and VR prototyping at Meta—showcase her ability to move between hardware, software, and user-focused experiences. She is driven to turn evidence-based analysis into tangible economic and social impact and already demonstrates a rare comfort working at the intersection of engineering, research, and community engagement.
