Top SchoolDimitar Georgiev is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist with 12 years of experience at the intersection of AI, machine learning and software engineering, currently funded by the EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway at the University of Oxford. He completed a PhD in AI and ML at Imperial College London focused on deep learning for analytical chemistry, label-free biophotonics and drug discovery under cross-disciplinary supervision, and previously worked on swarm robotics, decarbonisation projects and industry data science. Comfortable in both typed functional programming and full-stack development, he blends rigorous mathematical training (MMath) with hands-on software delivery from startups to research labs. Colleagues value his ability to translate complex experimental problems into reproducible code and scalable models, often bridging academic research and practical engineering. An under-the-radar strength is his background in game and web development, which informs pragmatic, user-aware tool design for research workflows.
