Rockstar🎓
Top SchoolDimitri Nicolopoulos is a senior software developer with four years in commercial roles and a deep academic background in machine learning and computational geometry. His master's thesis and research produced state-of-the-art work on approximate nearest neighbor search in high-dimensional spaces and delivered order-of-magnitude performance gains for CGAL. He has applied that algorithmic rigor to production systems—building ODBC/JDBC drivers for Cassandra, social network integration libraries and scalable web services for social-data ingestion and analysis. Currently at Tigera he focuses on securing and observing cloud-native containers and Kubernetes at scale, bringing experience from both research labs and industry. Comfortable across C++, Java, Python and MATLAB, he bridges theoretical ML methods with pragmatic, high-performance implementations. Outside the usual résumé items, he translated that research into practical bioinformatics and social-experience projects, demonstrating an ability to turn mathematical insight into usable software.
