Top SchoolDmitry Potepalov is a Senior Software Engineer based in Germany with over a decade of hands-on experience and five years in senior roles building highly reliable, high-throughput backend systems. He has deep C++ and Python expertise, proven at scale through work on Yandex.Mail (8+ million RPM, 99.99% availability) and media/CDN systems handling hundreds of Mbps per instance. At Yandex he combined backend engineering with SRE leadership—designing incident response protocols, running realistic outage "wheel of misfortune" exercises, and leading an SRE V-team—skills he continues to apply at Aiven. Dmitry is skilled in designing live resharding and availability tooling, and he brings practical production experience in monitoring, on-call troubleshooting, and capacity planning. His background in applied mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University underpins a methodical approach to reliability and performance engineering.
