Top SchoolDonghui Zheng is a Head of Engineering based in Brisbane with 12 years of hands-on experience building API-first products and leading cross-functional teams across React frontends, Ruby on Rails backends, and Salesforce integrations. He progressed from hands-on development roles at IBM and startups to senior and leadership positions at Propell, where he now oversees frontend, API and Salesforce teams and shapes architecture and delivery. Donghui combines strong cloud and DevOps experience (AWS, Heroku, Nginx) with a background in systems-level engineering and automation from his IBM days, enabling reliable, high-throughput production systems. He has a track record of rapid delivery—shipping a Rails reporting app in five days and deploying software to 60+ embedded devices—and is comfortable working from low-level performance tuning to product-facing API design. A proactive, customer-focused leader, he prioritises business outcomes and developer productivity while mentoring engineers through code review and agile practices. He holds an MS in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and brings a pragmatic blend of startup agility and enterprise-grade processes.
