Top SchoolDoug Cone is a versatile senior software engineer and entrepreneur with 15+ years building full-stack web products, AI features, and infrastructure for startups and established companies. He blends hands-on Laravel/Livewire, PHP, Node, and cloud expertise with product-driven AI work—recently shipping LLM-backed natural language search, audit automation, and forecasting for a national land brokerage. A longtime open-source contributor, he’s improved WordPress core REST API endpoints and added tests to ensure robust integrations. Doug’s early entrepreneurial experience running his own consulting firm and co-founding a non-profit maker space gives him a pragmatic understanding of business needs, team dynamics, and rapid iteration. Outside of work he’s a CERT-trained disaster responder who brings the same hands-on, problem-solving grit to crisis relief as he does to engineering.
