Top SchoolDoug Petkanics is an entrepreneur and software engineer with 11 years of experience building and scaling data-driven products and engineering teams. As Founder and CEO of Livepeer he combines blockchain token economics with open media server design to create decentralized, cost-efficient live-streaming infrastructure. He previously co-founded Wildcard and Hyperpublic (acquired by Groupon), serving as VP Engineering and shipping award-winning mobile and web products. His hands-on background spans Ruby/Rails and Python architectures, mobile platforms, mission-control systems for DoD, protocol-level tweaks to BitTorrent, and early contributions to XQuery implementations. Based in New York, he’s drawn to the intersection of decentralization and practical engineering organization building, bringing both product instincts and low-level protocol experience to distributed media systems.
