Top SchoolEldar Insafutdinov is an AI researcher with 16 years of technical experience, currently working in AI Research at Amazon after postdoctoral work at the University of Oxford. He completed a PhD in Computer Vision at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, where he focused on human pose estimation in the wild and unsupervised 3D representation learning. Eldar combines deep academic rigour with applied research, having interned at Intel Labs and co-founded pixelwise.ai to advance vision-language-action models and 3D vision stacks for real-world robotics. His background spans visual computing and practical software engineering, dating back to geophysical software roles, which gives him a rare blend of domain breadth and hands-on systems experience. Based in Oxford, he is particularly interested in minimizing supervision in learned world models and enabling robots to learn directly from humans without costly simulation.
