Top SchoolEllis Wilson is a Principal Software Engineering Manager based in Pittsburgh who blends deep research-grade expertise in distributed file systems and non-volatile memory architectures with hands-on leadership at Microsoft’s Azure Managed Lustre (AMLFS) program. He leads an 8-person core team, drives roadmap and agile transformations, and remains a primary individual contributor—authoring major HSM features and delivering multi-fold performance improvements across observability, I/O, and ingest pipelines. Prior roles as a software architect and engineer at Panasas show a consistent focus on storage product design, all-flash systems, and data acceleration, informed by a PhD in computer science. He’s active in the Lustre community, originated its Documentation Working Group, and frequently presents at Supercomputing and user-group conferences, combining upstream open-source stewardship with cloud product delivery.
